Guest guest
Dear Tony, Gloria quoted: Sri Bhagavan strangely answered; "It means that the world is real" and quoted a Sanskrit verse which says " the world seen as world through ignorance is false, but the same world seen as Brahman through knowledge is real " >From Sri Ramana Reminiscences- By Prof. G.V. Subbaramayya You wrote: > Brahman is real, the world is unreal, all is Brahman. This vidic > expression succintly describes what Ramana is saying. This expression does not succinctly say what Ramana is saying Tony. The insertion "the world is unreal" is false. Love, Wim
Guest guest
Exactly dear Tony, As you say: > This is essentially where we differ. That is why you also profess that you are not enlightened... Do you get it...? You have been barking up the wrong tree all this time... Give up all your notions now... This is the moment to do it... And start again. A perfect seed in fertile soil and a perfect climate... Paths, places, sights, perceptions, and indeed all experiences arise from and exist in and subside back into the Space of Awareness. Like waves rising are not different than the ocean, all things arising from Awareness are of the nature of Awareness. Awareness does not come and go but is always Present. It is Home. Home is where the Heart Is. Jnanis know the Heart to be the Finality of Eternal Being. A true devotee relishes in the Truth of Self-Knowledge, spontaneously arising from within into It Self. Guest guest
Some one asked : "What is meant by saying that the world is false?"Sri Bhagavan strangely answered; " It means that the world is real" andquoted a sannskrit verse which says " the world seen as world throughignorance is false, but the same world seen as Brahman through knowledge isreal "From Sri Ramana Reminiscences- By Prof. G.V. Subbaramayya Dear Tony, While you make a good point about the 'lower mind' with its ignorance and illusions, might you be taking illusory a bit too literally when you say none of this exists? The world doesn't exist "in the way it is usually perceived and understood", but here in this quote even Ramana speaks to how a shift in perception makes all the difference. Maybe Harsha can shed some light on what is really meant by maya in advaita vedanta, because there are different ways of interpreting that concept. Subbaramayya Namaste Glo, Yes it is real as a projection or an appearance in itself. However it has no separate reality. Ramana also said that the true theory of creation, is that it never happened at all. Brahman is real, the world is unreal, all is Brahman. This vidic expression succintly describes what Ramana is saying. Sankara also said that it is real enough whilst one is in it. Guest guest
Dear Tony, These are the same two quotes you always throw at me. What I want is to talk about what these quotes mean to you, in terms of how you live. Hey, I know some more Ramana quotes too! When will Tony talk to Glo? Namaste Glo, I have a few more mahavakyas left to quote if you wish, Aham Brahmasmi, Tat twam asi etc. All boiling down to the same thing, all is one and it is all an illusion or an appearance upon the Self. Unfortunatle as I am still in the sea of samsara it is real for me whilst I'm in it and I deal with it. Sometimes well and sometimes not so well depending of my predominant guna and samskaras at the time. My earlier posts on experiencing well document my view of things and how I apply it or try to in my life. With some humour sometime hahahaha. To me there is no difference between a tree, a person, or an animal. It is all a kaleidascope on the screen of Brahman. I even think that when I talk to people, especially monkey people. I try and think about the substratum of this perhaps idiot I'm addressing sometimes.hahahaha Good job its not real. OM Namah Sivaya.......Tony.
