Between sleep and waking there is a momentary twilight. Thewaking con-consciousness begins with the I-thought. Just before the up-surgeof the I-thought, there is a split second of undifferentiated, pureconsciousness. First unconsciousness, then the light of pure consciousness, then the I-thought with which the world- consciousness floods in, this isthe order. The middle state is Self-awareness. We can sense it if we aresufficiently alert and watchful."From : Sri Ramana Reminiscences- Prof. G.V. Subbaramayya
