Guest guest
Manuel V. Hernandez [manuel1498] A NET of JEWELS daily meditations for seekers of Truth RAMESH S. BALSEKAR May 28 The limitations of words are clearly seen when they try to remind the Absolute of its true nature. Being merely the expression of thought, they can neither expose ignorance, which is nonexistent, nor reveal the Absolute to which they owe their existence. For this purpose words are as useless as a lamp at midday, which can neither dispel the darkness that is not there nor reveal the light of the sun. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ The words have their limitations but when uttered by genuine Sages, their potency is enormous. When spoken without understanding, they may be futile indeed from one perspective. I have heard that the Bible states that in the beginning there was the Word. The Word was with God and the Word Was God! Anything that you hold sacred can lead back to the Absolute. It may be prayer, sacred words, devotion to the Guru, meditation on images of God and surrender to the Divine. Harsha
