Whence the decision to meditate? Namaste Jan, It was accidental,(synchronicity). I found a Hittleman's Yoga book in a $1 box at Sears. They said if it's there it's a dollar. So I took it home and read it. I couldn't understand the vedanta at the time but I tried the meditations, and then things started happening. ONS..Tony. Where you just curious to try out the meditations? Or curious because of what was promised as a 'result'? For me that could have been possible reasons... Namaste Jan, I knew nothing of yoga, I only bought the book because it shouldn't have been in the cheap $1 box. Then when I got it home I started doing some of the asanas and meditations on candles stones flowers etc. I didn't do it for any reason other than I had the book...I figured later that it was my Higher Self giving me a nudge along....ONS Tony. And now that you know "there is only Self", do you still use terminology like higher and lower Self?

Namaste Jan, Well actually at the time I bought the book I was at my low ebb or extremity hence God's opportunity. So relatively I have to still use higher and lower as long as the wall outside seems solid to me. Again I know there is only one but until I really know that, I will use such terminology to survive in this illusory world....ONS...Tony. So do I, Tony, to function in this world. I still act _as if_ we were separate beings... otherwise, I wouldn't be writing posts at all. I still find it convenient to operate _as if_ High Self is someone other than me, someone I can talk to... or sometimes as if Low Self is someone else. )))) I still give my food - and the karmic stuff I find on my bodies - to Goddess, and ask GB, my spiritual guru, for guidance... even though I know it's a kind of play in which I'm taking all the roles. >From another angle, if we didn't make some abstractions - discriminate among parts of Ourself - we couldn't discuss anything at all. ) I mean, if you look at a big Thing, the only way you can talk about it... or _think_ about it... is to look for some specific things about it, some details or aspects, that you can separate out - yes, and give names to.
