Guest guest
Hello everyone. This is a spiritual satsangha (fellowship) and not a political forum and the posts here need to respect the Ahimsa (non-violence) spirit of the list. Mutual respect in discourse as well as a certain amount of spiritual maturity is expected in what is said here. This is a gentle and light hearted sangha and we have members from many different traditions, backgrounds, cultures, and nationalities. Please refrain from broad generalizations about groups. Insulting any nationality, religion, country, tradition, culture, background is not acceptable here. Also, strange and odd behavior which does not meet standard social norms on a consistent basis is not encouraged or welcome here. If your form of expression cannot respect the spirit of the sangha, please find other forums which are appropriate and suited to your needs. Thanks. Live and Let Live Love to all Harsha Given below is the list description. Please read carefully. This spiritual discussion group is an open Satsang and is blessed by Sri Ramana Maharshi, the great Jnani Sage of Arunachala. a is in the best tradition of a joyous spiritual fellowship for facilitating the Recognition of the Eternal Reality that is One's Own Self. "I Am That!" This is the uncompromising, simple, and yet Radical Truth proclaimed in a variety of ways by the ancient and modern Sages of Hinduism, Jainism, Buddhism, and Taoism. In Advaita Vedanta, the highest teaching emphasizes the complete identity of the Individual Soul with the Supreme Soul. In Tibetan Buddhism, Dzogchen is considered the supreme teaching and represents the nondual focus on one's innate wakefulness. How beautiful the variety of expressions in so many different traditions! We embrace this variety with great joy and in fellowship in a. No religion or teacher or tradition has a monopoly on the Essential Truth of Reality which is Our Own Nature. In this context, a focuses on the aspirations and experiences of individuals on the spiritual path. Everyone interested in any of the Shiva and Shakti traditions, and the related yogic and tantric paths as well as those practicing primarily the cognitive methods of the pure nondual teachings of great Jnanis such as Ramana Maharshi are welcome to join. The discussions are typically expected to focus on Self-Realization, Kundalini Shakti and Its Manifestations, God-Realization, the Goddess, Enlightenment, and various types of Samadhis (Savikalpa and Nirvikalpa). Discussion of various teachers and teachings can also be enriching as long as there is mutual respect and a feeling of amity in the conversation. Humor and poetry and other artistic expressions of the spiritual life are encouraged and supported. May God Bless everyone with Peace, Joy, and Understanding. May we all nourish and heal each other in the spirit of Compassion, Wisdom and Love. OM Shanti, Shanti, Shanti. Guest guest
Dear Harsha: Wondering if any of my posts did not meet your guidelines for participation. If they did not, please advise and I may correct in the future or realize that this is not the Sangha for me. The reason I am here is that I did a search for Nisaragadatta and this group appeared. He is my first choice of a teacher and Ramana is my second. If I do continue to participate here I will post the writings of Nisaragadatta which thrill my consciousness beyond belief. I have to admit that I am slightly weird and may not be welcome here. I wont have any hard feelings if I am not fully welcomed here. Guest guest
You are fully welcome here Alton. I periodically post list guidelines and make general comments if I think things are off track. They are not aimed at any particular person. Paths, places, sights, perceptions, and indeed all experiences arise from and exist in and subside back into the Space of Awareness. Like waves rising are not different than the ocean, all things arising from Awareness are of the nature of Awareness. Awareness does not come and go but is always Present. It is Home. Home is where the Heart Is. Jnanis know the Heart to be the Finality of Eternal Being. A true devotee relishes in the Truth of Self-Knowledge, spontaneously arising from within into It Self. Guest guest
You are totally welcome here Alton. I'm *very* weird myself, and they haven't kicked me out yet! Guest guest
Thanks and to all who welcomed me. Yes, this place has become, quite quickly a very attractive nuisance to me and also I hope a "Fatal Attraction". I wanted to limit my time here and have some discipline, but this forum was in my consciousness and so was Nisaragadatta and Ramana, so I couldn't keep away. The religion, Jewish that I was born into, plus the most other ones, irritated my consciousness. Even the 5 Eastern Gurus that initiated me bristled my conditioning. Nisaragadatta said that I could be here because of my ancient connections. Must be so. Love, Alton , Greg Goode <goode@D...> wrote: > You are totally welcome here Alton.
