Guest guest
Spirit is an English word which is derived through translations by the Church of Rome from "Biblical" (found in the Latin Vulgate) roots which (from the original Hebrew and Aramaic) transliterate as "Universal Breath" or "Universal Lifeforce". No more .. no less. An ancient document entitled The Pseudo-Isodoric Decretals, dating back to the 9th century, persuaded Pope Nicholas I to eradicate the individual human spirit from the original Trichotomy of Man. This put God/Spirit "out there" and gave the Church enormous power. This is the basis of a western spiritual and religious traditions of God and Spirit out side of self and the body. Some material on this can be found at http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/05773a.htm -- Christopher Wynter
