Guest guest
Dear Sylvia and Gill, Thanks, and I appreciate both your posts. Well, my email to president (AT) whitehouse (DOT) gov got a nice reply from autoresponder. :)so it does work sometimes? Some more addresses are given at bottom of this email. I went to the online petition site Gill gave and couldn't find anything about this issue amidst the hodgepodge of topics there. "Unfortunately, because of the large volume of email received, the President cannot personally respond to each message. However, the White House staff considers and reports citizen ideas and concerns." I understand one needs to be careful what they say about the president, even online, but I'll take the risk of saying what might it harm if he WAS inundated by emails and letters about this issue? How important is breathing? I feel rather passionate about this issue. As the USA contributes more greenhouse gas than the rest of the world combined, the rest of the world is affected by global climate changes and has a right to be concerned too. It seems doubtful, let alone dangerous, that each person on these lists would respond or forward an email. However, in lieu of what may be an easily ignored petition anyway, here is a website with links to organizations active on this issue. Upon further thought,a better course of action seems to be to support those organizations already existing and dedicated to environmental concerns. http://www.climatenetwork.org/ May 2001 - Take Action Now!!
