Guest guest
Namaste All, The path of Bhakti, of course is the easiest way to liberation. However in the West this is looked on differently than in the East. Westerners are rajasic and therefore like results and activity. Hence the success of the 'Hare Krishna's', with active dancing etc. Also the other great rasas is the mind and intellectualising. Therefore VNDism, without developed spiritual awareness is likely to be sterile. Why? Because instead of skipping the mind, it spends a lot of energy, editing out, Is, Mys etc and insists on regimented thinking, almost cult like!!! Ramana's system had nothing to do with that, he just said go within find the real 'I'. Maharaj sometimes talked of 'That', and other times talked of Praneaswara or Saguna Brahman. So both these saints had a devotional dimension to their activity. They either sang or had people singing on the ashram etc. If one reads the Gita, one will find a synthesis is a successful approach for many. VNDism is perhaps only ending up with a non dual mind, but a mind all the same, a thought is a thought, no matter what it is. OM Namah Sivaya......Tony.
