How are you? One of the best experiences I've ever had on

an e-list was when I first joined this list and you and Dan,

and I think I remember Mira was there, way in the beginning,

and you two went to town explaining mass and acceleration

and spirituality, and I played stupid. Remember that?

And, when the joke on all of us was discovered, we all

had a great laugh.

I think the ability to laugh at oneself is such a wonderful

quality of joy. And if spirituality is not joyful, what is it?

Now, speaking of joy, I still think wintering in the Canary

Islands or living there ... that to me sounds like joy!

Nicolas can't be left and I'd never get the ex- on board

with the plan, so, I'll be here, which is still better than

the Artic.

One smart Dutch man who left the cold ... you should

see the heating oil bills with the collusion between

the horrendous administration we have here in the

states now and the oil companies. It's so bad that

the prez signed an Executive Order authorizing

"political assassination." Imagine every "police

authority" with that authorization to murder ... remind you

of another time and place?

Me too.

Love,

Anna

Hi Anna,

As an old-timer of Both and NDS, that

is remembered well... A lot of explaining went on those days...

Not much of a surprise as " " is the root of every thing :)

And, when the joke on all of us was discovered, we all had a great laugh.

Sure, discovering "the joke is always on me" is the laugh

of a lifetime...

I think the ability to laugh at oneself is such a wonderful quality of

joy. And if spirituality is not joyful, what is it?

Then it could be called "willful practice" <laugh>

For spirituality to be joyful, there has to be

at least the faith that Love is the basis of everything

and all creatures want to be happy. A faith that in the

course of events becomes self-fulfilling...Now, speaking of joy, I

still think wintering in the Canary Islands or living there ... that

to me sounds like joy!

Living there for over 8 years, I found that to be true -

great climate, great volcanic scenery... People are

nice, little or no stress. And unless career is the number

one priority, few leave the islands even for a vacation...Nicolas

can't be left and I'd never get the ex- on board with the plan, so,

I'll be here, which is still better than the Artic.

If an "ex" still has the power to influence one's behavior,

that isn't "my" definition of "ex" :)One smart Dutch man who left the

cold ... you should see the heating oil bills with the collusion

The cold in Holland or Belgium hasn't been a deterrent: even in

winter I was wearing summer cloths and in order to keep warm,

the intensity of moving was increased...

The eyesight getting highly dependent on light intensity was the reason.

And here, at daytime the intensity of light is always very high.

Regarding politics, I only know that a few years ago, when the military

wanted to build a rocket launching site on one of the islands, there was

such a massive demonstration against it that the plan was dropped :)

'Scandals' don't exceed the level of (ab)using the police-helicopter to

visit a lover, or to go hunting in an area where wildlife is

protected...And in a small community, 'secrets' don't live long :)

Love,

Jan
