Guest guest
Hi Alton, I agree with you about the feelings and their up and down! I'm not familiar with the world of therapy other than what my friends report. Some of them give up the spiritual seeking after doing some therapy, because the desired results are attained from therapy instead. Other friends were taught by VND-ist teachers (thanks for the acronym TONY!) not to go to therapy, and actually did not go to therapy. They continued to attend satsang instead. But they were not really looking to abide in the firm awareness that they were Consciousness Itself. Rather, they were looking to be rid of feelings of deep seated fear, hatred, insecurity and lack of self-esteem. When satsang failed to deliver this for more than a few hours, many of my friends went to therapy, in spite of the VND teachings. Still other friends were enabled by different satsangs, and maybe Buddhist practices, to free themselves of the VND teachings against therapy. They could then go to therapy with a greater sense of courage, honesty and clarity. Some folks I know are going to EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). Childhood traumas, long-term fears and aversions are melting away more rapidly than from decades of spiritual seeking. Guest guest
Hi Greg: Perhaps I jumped the gun. I had lots of alternative stuff plus a psychiatrist when I was young. I read "Fight Against Fears" and it was the thing to do. So when I got to "I AM THAT" everything fell into place. Basically it was my thoughts that distubed me as I have Scorpio energy in three houses, although my sun is in Sag. Astrologers tell me that Scorpios do not have a guardian at the gate of the unconscious. I found that to be absolultely true in my case, so when the teachings convinced me that they were not my personal thoughts but universal, I no longer thought that something was wrong with me. Ever since I was a kid, everyone is always droping dead in my thoughts. It used to really bug me and now it is just a passing show. I now think because I always killed everyone off in thought that it actually prevented it from happening. Try it. Just joking.
