Guest guest
Namaste All, IMO. Fear is the primordial subconscious feeling of separation, from the source, that doesn't really exist. Every sentient being experiences this to some extent or other, and this base thought translates into all the other fears. Sankara said that Death is actually separation from our desires. So death as such is not a fear of the unknown, but the normal human impediment to 'realisation' -attachments. How many people do you know who are thinking about how they will be remembered even? They may be a big shot wanting a memorial for himself. At the same time he may be reborn as a starving refugee in Africa. Although he thought he was going to 'heaven'. Not knowing is actually wishing to know in reverse. Thought themselves and mundane knowledge is also an attachment. People are vehemently attached to their beliefs, attitudes and religions. Most people think they know what is going to happen after death. Those who have astral and mental travelled have an even larger experience. However most don't know what life they will lead next, many don't believe in rebirth. Rebirth is not the rebirth of the ego but only the rebirth of our attributes, good and bad, which energise a new construct called a body. Compensation with drugs is also 'God', and karma. They have the effect of having all receptors firing at once, but they do compensate the chemical difficiency and should be taken. They will help people meditate by taking the chemical imbalance away as a distraction. In the end result it all about desires and attachments, if you have none then death doesn't happen, as such. So fear of death is to do with desires and attachmens. Om Namah Sivaya....Tony.
