The above is one... another is to just forget there is such a thing as "ego" entirely... when the forgetting is complete, where has 'the ego' gone? :-) If ego is in fact an illusion, then it seems the proper approach is simply to disregard it, and it will fade as Awareness focuses intensely Here-Now. In order for 'ego' to arise, time has to arise along with it... no time, no ego. In general, whatever we are interested in has reality for us... so when we lose interest in 'our ego' and 'the other person's ego', the whole "ego-idea" simply loses its sense of reality. When Reality is of primary interest, then Reality is the only Reality :-). Anyway, if we are truly happy and without fear and suffering, nothing else matters ;-).
