Guest guest
Namaste All,IMO. I am somewhat bemused by not only the recent unmaksing if a so called jnani, but now yet another claim to 'realisation'. It seems to be that unless these people are totally unscrupulous or deluded, they may have had a self actualising experience or 'peak experience', as Maslow calls it. Maslow 1968,p 82, pp 87-88. This is a mystic experience or a godlike feeling of unity, and no differentiation, of awe reverence humility surrender before the experience as before something great, etc etc. This experience is actually share my many and misunderstood. It happened to me several years before I became interested in meditation etc. Does that make my the new jnani, hardly? If some of these new enlightened beings would do themselves the favour of reading some Vedanta and the history some sages, they may not jump in were angels fear to tread. As I already posted this is not uncommon, but some egos think it only happened to them. A saguna samadhi or nirguna samadhi would be something else other than a flash of enlightenment. Let us not all take up our burdens and beds and run after these people. Advice..read a little Maslow!! ONS...Tony.
