Guest guest
By listening to it with rapt attention it quells the mind. I got it a small number of times when out of the body. My usual is the small humming sound. The big sound emanates from the higher spiritual planes. If you dont have a paradigm to place it in, it freaks you out and can send you into a mental institution. The different sounds come from the various spiritual planes. It is actually the same universal sound but changes according to the medium it passes through. Something like a trumpet gets muted but not exactly like that. My view is that some of the people who hear the loud sound in the head, come from high spiritual planes and are here to pay back some karma so they end up with severe mental problems. The two sounds that I experienced were thunder along with lightening. Another was I think the Vena. It was a very annoying screeching sound that if I did not have the teachings, I would say it was quite obnoxious. Of course they did not last long enough probably because I was lusting for them to continue. When I was around 21 I woke during the night and time disappeared. Since I had no teachings in those days I got scared out of my wits and went into my fathers bed for comfort. He usually rejected me but luckily this time he did not. Time came back in a short while. Now if that ever happened it will be thrilling. Love is all you need, Alton Alton
Guest guest
I suppose that instead of *freaking out* and ending up in *a mental institution*, it is possible to transform the sound into vibrations in the physical body; that is, to GROUND the energy, to manifest it in the concrete, physical reality. One (of many) lines of development goes along these path: (a) first clairvoyant views of colours, (b) clairaudience and inner sounds, and © vibrations in the physical body. You know that occult type powers, like clairvoyance, etc, may simply happen spontaneously.Either way, most all the classic literature of recognized ones like Ramana cautions against paying much attention to such manifestations. So what are you really asking for? What will hearing this sound or any sound really do for you, Alton? Since I recently mentioned psychosis here, let me add another caution. I have had both types of experiences (crazy and not), and there is basically NO difference in the experience itself. The "craziness" is mostly a matter of how functional or dysfunctional a person is afterwards, or if it becomes a 24/7 experience that takes someone out of touch with reality. someone out of reality. Really, I have heard sounds, like the thunder one, to me like a door slamming over and over, also 3 gong type bells - both happened while meditating and very much in my normal state of mind. This is no big deal and means nothing, certainly hearing any sound is no proof of moksha. Well, I am very unclear from what you say, just what you are seeking, Alton. Could you explain or elaborate? When Kundalini moves upwards, our assemblage point of consciousness moves into other dimensions in order to adopt inspiration. When the energy returns downwards, we must ground it, and in such ways we avoid socalled mental diseases. On the other hand, we have the cases where the light energy comes from above downwards - where too much energy is "down there", causing serious diseases in the physical body. This is Yin and Yang, the two poles of upwards and downwards circulation which should be balanced in order to live healthy. Therefore, I mentioned the clairvoyance->clairaudience->vibrations of the body steps, as tools for cosmic energy to be transmitted through us and grounded. It's very dangerous to "hold on the energy".
