Guest guest
Namaste All, Talking about the non existence of the world or not even giving some validity to it is counterproductive to some people. Some verbal non dualists, are like that because they wish an easy way entailing no action. The world is real enough whilst one is in it, and we have to pay our bus fares. It my be an impermanent projected appearance, but unless one is realised it is very real. IMO opinion Ramana has a successful way, but if one doesn't like, 'Who am I?', then just observe the doing. Walking is happening etc. Eventually one will get to a stage where there is some vibration or sensation before a thought, action. We then attribute our desire to this feeling. Observing this will give one the knowledge that it is mostly happening anyway. Be an observer, and carry out a purification regime or sadhana, to slow down the growth of samskaras or sankharas. Being non dualistic without purification gets one nowhere. Meditation isn't a matter of time, hours of meditation may be less productive than two minutes. Especially if it is not really meditation but something else with experiences in it. The simplest meditation concentration technique is to observe the breath around the nostrils, then throughout the body, after the feeling of being breathed arises. Vndism is just intellectual creation of non dual thought samskaras that's all. The less said the better.....ONS....Tony.

Undoubtedly. There is of course very little anyone can write or say that isn't "counterproductive to some people." One can avoid doing such harm by neither writing nor speaking. > > Some verbal non dualists, are like that because they wish an easy > way entailing no action. I'm sure that's true. although since "verbal non dualists" are your invention you get to decide who is one. Convenient! > The world is real enough whilst one is in it, and > we have to pay our bus fares. True enough, but the divine will decides the nature of the "fares," not O'Cleary or some musty old scripture. > It my be an impermanent projected > appearance, but unless one is realised it is very real. It is what incarnate life entails and it is no less "real" than any other perceptual mode. > > IMO opinion Ramana has a successful way, Opinion noted, although I don't know how one could measure such success. > but if one doesn't like, > 'Who am I?', then just observe the doing. Ah, good advice imo, simple! > Walking is happening etc. Eventually one will get to a stage where > there is some vibration or sensation before a thought, action. Be an observer, Yup, a good "practice." > and > carry out a purification regime or sadhana, to slow down the growth > of samskaras or sankharas. If you are saying there is no direct correlation between time spent in meditative practice and the actual meditative state, that is quite true, thanks! > Especially if it is not really > meditation but something else with experiences in it. Well, like *duh*! > > The simplest meditation concentration technique is to observe the > breath around the nostrils, Ladies and gentlemen, Mr. O'Clearly has implied that he has tried every available "meditation concentration technique" there is, and I'm grateful that he has chosen to share his knowledge! > then throughout the body, after the > feeling of being breathed arises. Yes, this "mid-point" can be very instructive. > > Vndism is just intellectual creation of non dual thought samskaras > that's all.
