Guest guest
Hi Vicky: You make me happy too, that I am not an animal. I am finally accepting my failure to be a vegetarian though. Also, thanks for the referral to the Ramana sites, but it seems that you post the same stuff here, so why go there? Thanks in advance, Love, Alton , "Viorica Weissman" <viorica@z...> wrote: > > > Bhagavan said that the principal Sadhanas > we should practice were to eat only Satvic > food and observe Satsanga. > He laid down no other rules. > He said that the mind was entirely created > by the food we ate which must be healthy and > strictly vegetarian. > However he never interfered with people or enforced > such things on them . > The food in the ashram was very hot , > South Indians being used to eating such > food , but Bhagavan did not complain , > he himself was a Southerner. > His attitude was that they know what to do > and if they preferred not to do it > that way that was their look-out. > However he was dead against meat-eating. > Once in my early days someone spread the rumour > that I was preparing meat dishes in my kitchen . > It was ,of course , a lie , my food was actually > much more Satvic than the Ashram food. > When Bhagavan heard this story he said , > "We don't want that sort of thing here." > > ---------------------------- > A Sadhu's Reminiscenses > Of Ramana Maharshi > By Sadhu Arunachala > (A.W.Chadwick) > ----------------------------
Guest guest
Hi Viorica, I wonder if Tony still will be happy after reading this: Strictly vegetarian, wouldn't that mean "not from any animal source"? And if the mind is entirely created by the food consumed, consider the damage done by processed food, like microwaved or cooked... That damage is used as an excuse to irradiate food with gamma rays, to improve conservation - radiation causes the same damage as cooking or heating in general. And hot spices have the property to (over)stimulate the digestive system - as to prevent constipation, which in a tropical climate, could favor the growth of troublesome intestinal parasites. Processed food the sole reason for constipation, the link will be clear. And no constipation is defined as that the 'journey' through the entire digestive tract is some 24 hours... Guest guest
When the website is down..so to speak, your sent to mail is not showing up... it is best NOT to keep trying to re-send it, either from home or from the website. This is apparently what caused Alton's problem, he kept trying to resend. Your email is simply delayed. LOve, gloria - Viorica Weissman Tuesday, July 03, 2001 3:19 PM Re: This will make Tony happy! Hi Jan , This is the third mail I send to you today; This is only a test , I am sending it from www. to check if it works ; I sent two replies many hours ago directly at the website but they didn't arrive ; I hope the original answer will arrive until tomorrow , if it will never arrive I'll try to remember what I wrote to you the first time, long story to answer to you today! vicki Get personalized email addresses from Mailhttp://personal.mail.//join All paths go somewhere. Guest guest
Hi Viorica, Web-mail has it problems, probably even more than 'regular' ISP's. Perhaps it is useful to have an extra account available, in case one doesn't work. And when suspecting failure, send a mail from one account to the other as to verify... One such extra E-mail provider could be http://www.iname.com/ and unlike for instance with hotmail accounts, no spam... Perhaps a tip for Alton too...
