Hi Wim,

I agree with much of what you said recently and this bit:

"Most of the time, whatever answer you would come up with, it was

almost immediately called into question with a, "Yes but...,' or a "Look

at it from the other side...," or the very clever, "Not only that but

also...," or "Granted, but...""

reminded me of my morning musings before getting out of bed, wherein I

was noticing that much of our adult conversations look like this as

well, with a very automatic sort of gainsaying of anything anyone just

said. Indeed, I find myself taking on all sides, so that if you say two

diametrically opposed things to me I can very easily counter them both

and feel I'm expressing my true opinion. (no you can't, Mark) (hee,

hee).

Anyway, I noticed that the very word "conversation" seems to imply this

("converse" - ation).

Ain't it funny?

Love, Mark

ps I attended a career workshop recently (btw, any great ideas for

employment for me?), and I met a nice woman who has a very do-able idea

for her next career, which she has already put into motion, but she was

entertaining doubts. Her first doubt was whether it would make enough

money to support her, and when people started making suggestions like

have her daughter set up a web site, she very quickly switched positions

and expressed her fear that the business would grow too fast and

overwhelm her. I think we (I) do this rather often, having two opposed

fears balance each other so that whenever a solution to one arises, this

solution triggers the other, so that we remain paralyzed between the

pair of opposing fears. I for one would like to dismantle this dynamic,

which I agree was set in place by that early conditioning, which of

course is merely the result of the parent's early conditioning, which

was the result of the grandparent's early conditioning, which was...

What surprises me is that apparently the hair products industry was

already in place when Adam got kicked out of the garden for becoming

aware of his dandruff. Hmmmm...

Hey, be well all.
