Dear Tony,

 

This list, as founded by Harsha, supports the theory and practice of

ahimsa. The scope of ahimsa is all beings, sentient and insentient, from

humans, avatars and devas - to microbes. In our understanding, practice

and behavior, we all try to do the best we can.

 

Since this list supports the practice of ahimsa, we try to bring ahimsa

into our interactions on this list. This includes the content and style

of our writing.

 

No one on this list supports mindless nondual chatter, idle vnd-ism, or

intentionally harmful or painful actions. We try to support ahimsa even

in the way we oppose these actions. Several individual members have

asked you to abide by these guidelines. In general, we all try to

avoid insulting, derogatory, inflamatory language, as well as personal,

religious and cultural insults.

 

Based on discussions among some of the moderators today, we have decided

to ban your posts for the period of one week. From now until July 13,

your posts will not be able to appear on . On July 13,

the ban will be lifted and you can re-join.

 

If, after the ban is lifted and should you re-join, we ask you to abide by

the list guidelines based on ahimsa. If it turns out that you cannot, then

the ban on your posts will continue until further notice.

 

The team of moderators, as well as the listmembers at large, appreciate

your presence here when it is in the spirit of the list, and look forward

to a kinder, more gentle presentation of your thoughts.
