Guest guest
Hi Tim: I just love when people make rationalizations for their failings. It all a question of degree. If you kill an ant its not a egregious as killing a cow or a person is it? Ghandi wanted to eat only fruit and nuts, but he could not do it and made compromises. I did too. I am not making excuses for my failure to be a vegetarian and will gladly suffer the consequenses. How about you? Who knows - but plants won't try to escape when perceiving to be killed - apart from that, a few leaves can be taken - so the plant will survive, produce new leaves, and eventually develop some chemicals as to make eating less attractive (selective toxins). Those chemicals are what makes eating those plants healthy º ºThen I suppose it will have to be fruit, unless fruit is seen to be ºself-conscious too (not impossible). The purpose of a fruit is to seduce to eating it and dispersing the seed(s). That can be taken care of by adapting toilet manners or when not eating like a monkey, by planting them <laugh>. º ºIn that case, perhaps starving to death would be preferable? That depends on perspective - there is one where not having been born is a valid one, as according to it, manifested life is unreal. And offering the human body to a hungry predator could be called an act of compassion. º ºBut tell that to a lion who brings down a goat for dinner. If ºanimals are self-conscious, then the lion has no excuse for eating ºmeat either <loud laugh>. Humans are conditioned to perceive compassion for most creatures (probably not for the like of cockroaches, flees and lice) whereas for instance lions and zebras, among others don't know what compassion is. And they don't know what "transformation of emotive energy" is either - but then, how many humans do know what that means?
