Guest guest
These are 'blood parrots'. The teddy bears of fish. Although the below aren't mine I have 5 in an my aqua-garden of about 30 or so fish, all kinds. 2 of my blood parrots are 'lovehearts', [Zenmuppet & Lipstick] that is they have no tails! Imagine sideways swimming hearts with muppet eyes and mammalian personalities. Amazing and charming personalities. Most folks can't imagine a fish with a personality until they meet a blood parrot. Blood parrots first started out in the early 80s in a petrie dish consisting of egg & sperm from a Green Severn & a Red Devil. All the males were sterile so they were rare back then. In recent years, however, there's been some crossing of 'blood parrot' eggs with sperm from one of the original specie parents. Now many varieties are easily obtained. Oddly, of all the species I've kept, they are the only one that is people-shy. Ironic how a people-engineered fish turns out to be people-shy. Once they get to know you they eventually warm-up. Blood Parrot fish with their tails on.
