The commonality is only seen when the traveller is no more. To borrow an analogy, how does the same mountain look, if a camera is swinging 360 degrees around to look at all sides? From any angle (it can be divided into far more than "360" degrees), the mountain will never appear to be the same one. But from the "peak" or apex, the view will always be the same.
