Guest guest
Hi Jan, >Man is neither the intelligent nor the sensible creature it thinks to be - perhaps that is hard to accept, as it can't be changed on a global scale... I grant you that the movement of tectonic plates or of galaxies towards each other cannot be stopped with the current state of science or common belief, but the global scale of human activity is not so much like tectonic plates, as it is like the cumulative effect of all the cars that are on the roads. if you can walk instead of driving most of the time why couldn't each of the billion "others" here? I'm not saying it's easy, but impossible? bs. Love, Mark

It fits the description of being the sporting lapdog of passions, the forces that move man. So instead of walking 100 yards to buy a pack of cigarettes, the car is taken - even more predictable than plate tectonics. And the climate here favors driving 2 wheeled vehicles over 4 wheeled ones - it would alleviate traffic jams too - but that is not what happens. Sensible and intelligent behavior? "Ego" based human life is bound for self-destruction - highly predictable as " " is a basic survival requirement for the species, like the nose is for canines. So the belief that "science will solve it" contradicts observation. "science is the art to create 10 new 'problems' by 'solving' one" "Problem solving" in the sense of gratifying desires... Childhood obesity - worldwide - is only one of those issues. Here, unknown as little as 25 years ago - and look what happened. The laugh of 'solving' obesity by designing low calorie and indigestible food... It will only increase the bingeing crave...
