Benevolent - is that something that leaped out of Ben's mouth when he was young, or is it a holiday I've not heard of yet?

Alton asks that all of the members should have a vote on whether to

remove someone that is irking members and not just the

"board". It

would be ok with me if the "board" had the power to

over rule the

decision of the members that wish to vote one way or

another. Is not

this group democratic?

RSVP,

Love.

Dear Alton,

Thanks for posting this! It brought up a fun memory, along with my

typical silliness. I remember fondly asking plaintively (to get ice

cream, I'm sure at least a million times) if the family (2 parents and

one sibling, so I was shooting for a 3 to 1 split decision) (banana

split decision? sorry.) "Isn't this a democracy?" My Mother really

enjoyed giving her traditional answer, "No dear, this is a benevolent

dictatorship - ask your father if it isn't a benevolent dictatorship.

It's a benevolent dictatorship, isn't it Fred?" My Dad would roll his

eyes and we would howl with pleasure and Mother would grin, quite

pleased with herself.

In the same spirit, I can't resist suggesting as politely as I can that

Harshasatsang is a benevolent crime family. (I wanted to say

"thugship", but I was afraid that that would be the kind of boat you

guys give me for my birthday, which was last April, so you guys don't

have to keep it a surprise anymore.

thanks, Mark

PS you can tell that I'm kind of concerned that if satsang were

made democratic, I'd get kicked off immediately. Yikes, with ~20

moderators, I'm financially strapped already. HOORAY FOR THE

SYNDICATE!!!!!

Dear Mark:

Good story. It is just my point. If Harsha and his self appointed

oligarchy would just be honest and call themselves a benevolent

dictatorship, me and some of those who emailed support would probably

not make such a stinkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk.

Going to Usher in the Manoa Valley theatre now.

Check in tomorrow.

Sleep with your "selfs".

Love,

Atlon
