Thank you Yogini, for your clear perception of what is not completely understood here (where?). Being at a total loss regarding this concept of Realization, having heard and read at least over 250 different descriptions of this concept, I would like to know whether or not understanding of this particular concept is a prerequisite for actual Realization? Thanks > for your help, Perhaps our new arrival is actually referring to herself or to the immediate environs of Georgia, USA? :-) When I was a young musician, I had a number of collaborations with my peers. During one session, I was holding forth on my "concept of music" as it applied to the arrangement we were working on when the lead guitarist, exasperated, yelled "F*ck your d*mned 'concept,' for God's sake let's *play* our instruments!" A "concept" is simply a mental construct, and throughly understanding a concept, while an accomplishment of sorts, is not much related to the reality the concept attempts to describe. As a matter of fact, such an understanding carries with it the peril of standing in for what it refers to, a classic case of eating the menu instead of the meal! http://come.to/realization http://www.atman.net/realization http://www.users.uniserve.com/~samuel/brucemrg.htm http://www.users.uniserve.com/~samuel/brucsong.htm ______________ GET INTERNET ACCESS FROM JUNO! Guest guest
Hi Mira! Yogini wrote: ** It is clear to me that the concept of Realization is not completely understood here. Mira: Thank you Yogini, for your clear perception of what is not completely understood here (where?). D: The concept of "here", is clearly not clearly understood. So how about the concept of "understood"? Is what is understood clearly here, or is it only clearly there? Being at a total loss regarding this concept of Realization, having heard and read at least over 250 different descriptions of this concept, I would like to know whether or not understanding of this particular concept is a prerequisite for actual Realization? It has nothing to do with understanding or not understanding a concept. At least that much is clear. One hopes. Now, hopefully the concept of hope is not at all clear. The less clear it is, the more clear *it* is. Thanks for your help, Mira Thanks for being Sirius, Dan
