There is beauty but there is also pollution degradation exploitation and abuse to produce these lights!! Having joyful feelings about the planet can create a return and more vasanas and samskaras. It would be better to observe one's mind observing the beauty or whatever. Just there is beauty as there is just pain happening. I try to observe myself observing and realise that is all that it is. Even the so called Devas or Gods/Angels wish to be released from their happiness. Bliss and emotion are a trap of the mind we have to rise above joy and grief........ONS.......Tony. Dearest, Beautiful Tony, One sees a dung heap, and sees its beauty, one sees the marvelous lights, and sees a dung heap. The beauty as they say, is in the eye of the beholder. > TONY: > Having joyful feelings about the planet can create a return and more > vasanas and samskaras. It would be better to observe one's mind > observing the beauty or whatever. Just there is beauty as there is > just pain happening. MAZIE: Pain has its own beauty. So much worry about what one should be observing and not observing, one misses the Beauty and the Joy. Existence, Consciousness, and Bliss. This is not so bad as you seem to think. I am in the Redwood forests as I type this. Out side the window are towering giants, peaceful, loving beings. And I am in such joy at this beauty I could swoon. Each morning I go out and meditate in the forest and I am telling you, the beauty is so, so, so, I have no words to tell you of this Beauty. > TONY: > I try to observe myself observing and realise that is all that it is. > > Even the so called Devas or Gods/Angels wish to be released from their > happiness. MAZIE: Yes indeed Tony, observing myself observing and I realize the observing is filled with Joy and Bliss. And I am one of those who is in no hurry to remove this from my consciousness. I know my Beloved is with me and I know I have no worries about missing the mark, so to speak. Bliss is not an emotion. It surpasses emotion and if you have been in this Blissful state, perhaps you would view it a bit differently. Maybe I am wrong, but why worry, just enjoy the scenery and life will take care of itself. The Heart is the Home, and there lies great Beauty my delightful and beautiful Tony. Dwell in the Heart and forget the mind. The Bliss and Joy will take care of the mind. Ah mind, such a happy little trickster! Such a fun and playful friend! Hello Playmate! Let us play today in the forest of the Heart, in the mindfields of Bliss! Hello Tony! Let's play today, let's dance in joyful union of our hearts. I do love you so Tony! It is still within 'experience'. Impediments and attachments are concepts, notions, mental constructs, they have no reality in "being" . Conceptual attachment to the "notion of impediments" does not stand in the way of realization...it stands in the way of the relinquishment of attachments. For as long as you believe that your notions have any importance, you are impeding yourself by your attachment to your own concepts. Saguna, Nirguna? Concepts Tony, just concepts. You coined the term "verbal non dualism", don't you see how you could apply a similar notion to Nirguna... verbal Nirguna? > Even Sat Chit Ananda is a description of Saguna Brahman > not Nirguna, therefore it is also unreal and an impediment. Impediments are not real. As long as you think that impediments are real you are impeding yourself. You are as attached to your notions, as a dog is attached to the bone, it does not want to let go off. Holding on to the bone, the dog will continuously have to defend itself. By dropping the bone it may have a chance to chew on it (that is, if it still has to.) Love, Wim --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com). Guest guest
Hi Wim, >So you "have been" in the Bliss State? That was obviously not the unchanging >state of unconditional and condition-less bliss. I've been away from the lists for a while. Just happened to see your name and took a peek - haven't seen any of this thread otherwise. But this makes me think of a story. One time when I was teaching a meditation group, a new woman came to the class. At the end of the session, she came up and thanked me. And said she wouldn't be back again. She said she had shot up into a state of such bliss that it was absolutely terrible to have to come back - and she simply couldn't keep doing that and having to come back again. I think there is a level of such bliss, and it's not to be equated with the experience of going into the All. It's somewhere on the 6th plane, maybe at the top of it, to use the model and terminology of the DK/Bailey books. People in general seem to be either basically more emotional/astral or more intellectual, though the ideal, of course, is to get both into balance. Those who are basically emotional seem to find it easier to move from the 2d plane to 4 and 6 - emotional to intuition to bliss. And those who are more intellectual seem to move more easily on the 3-5-7 line. I haven't myself experienced a place of such bliss that I would feel as that woman did. That may be because the 3-5-7 line is my natural bent. Or maybe I have been in the same place and don't experience it in the same way that a 2-4-6 person would. Anyway, I am sure there's a place of great bliss which isn't the All. (Actually, I don't think I would call the All "blissful.") Namaste Kheyala, I don't have the quotes at hand but I think you will find that the Buddha and other sages have said that bliss is the last attachment, or could be. Anything that can be discussed or experienced is within experience or thought and therefore unreal. I don't have the quotes at hand from the Hindu scriptures but it is even logical to my mind that devas in heaven would wish to reincarnate so they may achieve realisation, and liberation from their happiness. Impediments and concepts aren't really the way I think about it. I don't really think about it that much at all. If I was in a bliss state a lot perhaps I would. I'm in an observation state. ONS...Tony.

In fact, it isn't that impediments are 'real' or 'unreal', simply that there are no such things... just as there are no purple-candy-striped unicorns wandering around. Sooner or later, the question "what is real or not real?" becomes utterly moot. Reality *is* Reality, but does not "know" Reality.
