Guest guest
A group went to Providence Zen Center, the summer of 2000. Denver might allow a whole different geographical group to make it. There are lots of photos in the files section. They say more than words ever could. There are 3 "retreat" folders. Thank you for sharing the photos Glo. Guest guest
It's nice to be back with all of you, even though briefly for a week or so. At the conference I attended, I mentioned and the response among these management scholars, many of whom are both brilliant and deeply spiritual, was very positive. So over the next few months, some of them may be joining. Next year, the academy meeting is in Denver and I will be participating in the management, spirituality, and religion group and might present a paper as part of my professional responsibility (yes, I still work for a living!). My suggestion would be that we think of combining our summer retreat with the academy of management conference, especially the Management, Spirituality, and Religion group, as they are very beautiful people. Having it on the same dates would benefit both groups. Love to all Harsha
Guest guest
Hi Harsha, I think it could be a good idea. I know, having been one, that sometimes scholars, academics and intellectuals get a bad rap in spirituality circles. But of course anyone you say is nice and beautiful can surely be a friend of mine! Maybe we can get some help in planning the retreat! Guest guest
Thanks Greg. The conference taught me that much is happening in the spiritual world and many streams of knowledge from psychology and medicine, and management, and other disciplines are coming together in a holistic way. When I talked to many of these people heart to heart, there was a sense of immediate clicking as if we had known each other for a long time. So it was a joyful experience for me and there is much potential for collaboration and good will and for mutual support. I think your workshop on deep body relaxation would be very well attended Greg! I have heard that Denver, Colorado is a nice area with great facilities. It would be a joyful occasion. Guest guest
Wim Borsboom [wim] Thursday, August 09, 2001 12:00 PM RE: Next Summer Retreat Dear Harsha I'm interested! Love, Wim --- That is great Wim! You will love it. They are your kind of crowd. Along with the professors, I met many "spiritual consultants" there who are working in corporations to "spiritualize them and change them"! Spiritual consultants are a new profession. These are people who have some background in some form of meditation and then apply these tools to organizational settings through the use of experiential exercises like visualizations and relaxation. Most people on this list like Wim, Greg, Dan, and others are actually vastly more experienced! I also met many upcoming authors who are somewhat successful and may be big hits like Deepak Chopra and Andrew Weil over the next few years. All in all, it was fun and there were lot of smiles and hugs! Love Harsha
Guest guest
Dear Harsha, Denver! Have been there a few times, was there also just after the high school shooting. Had my last near death experience there, (have had 7, I started very young :-), decided to stick around for a while. Indeed one gathers all one's memories while one experiences the, so to say, flight through the tunnel into and within primal energy. Actually, there is no light at the end of the tunnel as eventually there was... no tunnel..., in the end there is no ultimate either, it is so simple..., couldn't be simpler :-) The disappearance of time and space "experience" is enlightening to the extreme, one cannot help but "get it" :-) Wonderful conference facilities in Denver...as well as at the beginning and end of the tunnel... that ain't there:-) See you there??? in Denveeer??? Love Wim. > > Harsha [harsha-hkl] > Thursday, August 09, 2001 8:51 AM > > RE: Next Summer Retreat > > > Thanks Greg.
