Guest guest
Hi Greg, >I like what you say here, that > >>What do you think the mechanism of this is? You state it in terms of >>sound. Do you think the "sounds" may be a symbolic way of understanding >>your perceptions? > >I myself feel the chakras and different subtle energy dynamics in the chest >area. If I had to describe what I feel, using (as you hint), symbolic >terms, I'd choose a kinesthetic type of language. Perception from heart chakra? 4th plane? Can you describe it in more detail? >In certain respects, all sensory information is like a symbolic language. Yes. But in particular, to see chakras and so on with the inner vision and see them "as if" we were seeing them in the outer world with our eyes seems to be symbolic vision. Not the same as direct experience of them on a level other than physical. A woman who has super vision told me she usually sees these things symbolically, only once directly, she thinks. She said she thinks it's a matter of having "permission", because perceiving them directly is change - to look is to do. But seeing them symbolically doesn't change anything. So it's okay to look. )))))) >To say that we absolutely see the same thing that we hear (say a ringing >bell), a vast amount of internal translation is going on to relate one >stream to the other. Not sure what you mean. I know there are people who see sounds and hear colors... it's called synesthesia, I think. I can relate a tone to a color, or vice versa, but that's not the same thing. Last night I saw a show on the Discovery Channel about police and the fed government using psychics (under whatever name) and training people to do the work, which they were mostly calling distance viewing. There was some technical discussion about the use of sound in training and inducing the right state - which I didn't completely get, because I know little about sound tehnically. But the man was explaining that he could start one tone and then a second one, a little different. (Not sure if he meant one in each ear.) He said as he brings the two tones closer, a vibrato (or maybe he said tremulo) is set up, and you could hear it - a vibrating sound. He said this tension and alternation between the two somehow puts people into the right state for this work of distance viewing. It occurs to me that sometimes in meditation I hear a tone in each ear, and they're slightly different - not the same tone. I pull them together until they're the same - for balance and alignment. But I wonder if using two different tones - leaving them different and somehow using the difference - would (or does without our awareness) help in distance perception.
