Tony, was Krishna Janmashtami

Hello All,

I find this post of Tony's offensive, unfeeling, potentially harmful, and

in violation of our list guidelines. Is there no way to discourage this

kind of behavior?

I'm not bringing this up for my own sake. I filter all of Tony's posts

straight into the trash. I took a peek to see if his style had changed,

and I won't do it again soon.

I do think a Hindu and/or Krishna devotee should be able to post here about

Krishna's birthday without receiving this kind of treatment.

Hi Wim! You really know how to turn the pressure on! :-).

Oh, yes, you say, "Please Harsha, please do something.." Well, I have been

looking for my magic wand for a while now. You can rest assured that once I

find it and wave it properly, the world will be a better more harmonious

place and this Sangha will be singing and dancing the Michael Jackson tune,

"We are the world, we are the children,..". The magic wand has thus far

eluded me, however, and I feel like singing that old country classic,

"I beg your pardon,

I never promised you a rose garden

Along with the sunshine

There has got to be a little rain sometimes"

Does anyone else remember that song?

I guess it comes back to Sri Tony. Tonyji is part of the Sangha. He has

joined and he contributes honestly from his perspective, however odd it may

appear to others. Yes, Tonyji is a bit rough in his expressions and perhaps

a bit blunt but he has explained this by suggesting that this is due to his

Irish background. I don't know anything about the Irish culture and am not

an anthropologist but certainly willing to respect cultural differences. As

far as I know Tonyji does not usually swear at people, lose his temper, and

call them names. Tonyji can also take and insult and respond in a humorous

way which we should appreciate.

Tonyji may appear subtly condescending, sarcastic, and firmly entrenched in

a particular unshakeable view of reality. But is that really such a bad

thing?

I honestly don't think Sri Tonyji means to insult anyone on purpose. It

just sort of seems to happen.

Perhaps what Sri Tonyji needs from us is more love and more acceptance and

more respect.

We love you Tony!

Love to all

Harsha

All paths go somewhere. No path goes nowhere. Paths, places, sights,

perceptions, and indeed all experiences arise from and exist in and subside

back into the Space of Awareness. Like waves rising are not different than

the ocean, all things arising from Awareness are of the nature of Awareness.

Awareness does not come and go but is always Present. It is Home. Home is

where the Heart Is. Jnanis know the Heart to be the Finality of Eternal

Being. A true devotee relishes in the Truth of Self-Knowledge, spontaneously

arising from within into It Self. Welcome all to a.

A hollow tree rarely bears good fruit.

Most would avoid a skunk encountered

on a path in the woods, but even his place

is important in the diverse and divine life

Way to go Mace baby! Thanks for pointing out that hollow trees and

skunks have their place in the scheme of things. That should

substantially improve the dialogue and no doubt the atmosphere will

be purified quickly as well :-).

I don't know what to say in face of such wisdom except that we can all

be seen as hollow trees and skunks by someone or another brother.

One day I will be a hollow tree

and the wind will whistle through me

and if my branches fall one by one

perhaps they will become fuel

and warm the heart of a special someone.

Love

Harsha
