Ramana says, A vritti is a modification in the mind, so for example the ego is a vritti that is connected to all subsequent vrittis. So he is talking above about K-sakti being a modification( vibration if you will), whether one is into Saguna or Nirguana. Of course energy is the ultimate vritti, beyond that is Brahman. So it is necessary to achieve purification of the vrittis before realisation occurrs. Not just union of the opposite energies at the sahasrara. The ego sense is called the cit-jada-granthi or knot between consciousness and the inert body. Certain cakras are also referred to as granthis. This brings me to the point again that most K activists if that is the word, are on the outside looking in. They almost seem to not realise that the whole situation is happening in the subtle bodies. The cakras are but vortices and transducers between the subtle and physical sheaths. Dissolving a granthi on the sushumna, as it is said, is but purifying and enhancing a particular sheath. Prana cannot do this alone, conscious effort of sadhana is necessary, otherwise we have what passes for K awakening in the West. Which returns to my original premise that 'K' is actually cleansing prana working on mainly the awareness sheath, accompanied by spiritual practice. For again there is only karma and prana...All the talk of Goddesses and K etc are mental religious constructs that aid as any religion does..I took a look at Muktananda and he doesn't really go that deep himself on this subject...ONS...Tony.
