Guest guest
Gurumai is not a subject that I want to discuss frivolously or off the cuff. After Baba took mahasamadhi, it was made clear to me in many ways that the Shakti as I constantly experienced it didn't require any further assistance from Gurumai, or, as far as I was concerned, anyone else. If I were making a decision now to approach a Siddha Yoga guru, I think I would choose Gurumai's brother, (Mahamandeleshvar) Swami Nityananda, sometimes refered to on internet lists as Nityananda Jr, so as not to create any confusion between references to him and those to Bhagawan Nityananda, the modern founder and original Shaktiman of our lineage. Swamiji went through his trials as one of Baba's two heirs, not the least of which was his forced separation from Gurumai and the SYDA establishment, a breech that should have been healed by now; and I believe, if it was up to Swamiji, would be. He is usually listed next to SYDA Foundation or SYDA Yoga, if you try to access SYDA on a search engine. I think his Ashram is called Shanti Mandir, and it's up in the Catskill's north of NYC. I'm hoping to see Swamiji in the Fall, just to chat and see what he and his people are doing. I'm planning to say a good deal more about Gurumai and Baba in the future, but I'd like to pick the time and place. I want to place a couple of ideas that seem important to me before interested parties like those on this list, but I want to frame them and place them in context very carefully, as the Internet likes nothing more than the soap opera that can be generated out of poorly prepared or presented ideas. yours in the bonds, eric
Guest guest
Many, many thanks, Eric & Linda. I appreciate your candor and thoughtfulness. I look forward to your future posts, Eric -- I think a non-hysterical discussion of this issue would be most welcome here. I'm always delighted when experienced folks share their experiences. I know the Vedanta, etc. world mostly through reading (I'm a converted Jew) and I'm happy when good people "flesh it out" for me! Guest guest
Hello Eric: What perfect timing your letter is for my daughter. We live very near the main SYDA ashram and my daughter considers herself strongly connected to Baba. Due to the high cost of attending anything at the South Fallsburg ashram my daughter has been speaking of tracking down the brother's ashram in Pine Bush and seeing if the cost of spirituality is more in line with her finances as a regular working person. Now with the name you have given I can search this ashram out on the net and she can follow through by visiting as I imagine that we are not more than 30 minutes or so from the Shanti Mandir. I would agree that the breech should be healed by now...however, it seems as if there are those involved in the world of spiritual business who have little desire to heal rifts....unfortunately, SYDA yoga is not the only organization that holds tightly onto their battle lines. It is perfect that one gets to a certain point where the 'pathless path' becomes the only path... we would be in big trouble if a certain teacher or organization were the only way to travel :-). She would have got a nice gift though.....ONS.....Tony.
Guest guest
DEar Tony, I don't know exactly what the status is of these allegations, in terms of how proven they might be. However, your personalization of this to Linda's daughter is coarse and unnecessary. Just stop it, Tony, and don't give me any BS about your Irishnessness as an excuse. I am speaking here as a moderator, this is NOT wanted on this list! Gloria

Or are you looking for a trumped up charge to ban me again? I was doing them a favour not a hurt, try and get your head around that.
