Yes, kechari mudra is involved at some point, the tongue though does not have to be cut from underneath as suggested in some old literature. In my case and a very dear lady here in Victoria (Sheila), what happened was that our soft palate pulled itself in, shrunk so to say... and the tongue automatically moved up to touch and massage the sweetest spot above the soft palate... that was the start of the flow for me... Samadhi follows automatically. I know also a very dear lady who experiences the same, but more like a variation on French kissing. Her soft palate shrinks as well, as she invites her lover to have him touch a spot above her soft palate with his finger. She sucks the finger in so to say and directs it to the right spot... It is most wonderful... and the divine unification is indescribable... It leads to a Mutual Samadhi that I have never heard of before. That we may on this earthly plane participate in such heavenly blessings is indeed a miracle... The divine graces are innumerable... Thank you for reminding me, I have written about that before, I believe to our dear Amanda... Love, Wim --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Guest guest
Hi Wim, >> 2) the nectar or elixir that "trickles down from the sahasrara," according >> to Muktananda. He relates its production to movements of the tongue, >especially >> khechari mudra. > >Yes, kechari mudra is involved at some point, the tongue though does not >have to be cut from underneath as suggested in some old literature. This exercise destroys disease and enables >the tongue to enter the nasal pharynx; it is the first step toward the >_khechari_ mudra. (p.119) I find the following passage extremely interesting: >Then my tongue began to undergo a new and strange kriya. Sometimes it >reached down to my heart, and at other times it was held up against the >palate, but after meditation it would return to its usual place. Many >strange kriyas like this took place. >snip< In meditation a shape >appeared to me and told me, "When your tongue moves downward, it is >performing the holy yogic task of opening the heart lotus, and when it >goes up into the nasal pharynx, that is the khechari mudra. This process >will bring you toa high state." When the tongue is held upward, the way >to the sahasrara is opened. This is the way by which the awakened >Kundalini goes to meet the supreme Lord, Parashiva, who is enthroned in >the midst of a thousand rays in the sahasrara. (pp. 129-130) Now I feel certain that his gross physical tongue did not go down his throat to the heart! But I know that in Kundalini meditation, I am often feeling my etheric body, rather than the gross physical. And I do believe his etheric tongue could go down his throat. So when I am in meditation and my tongue moves up and curls back, I don't strain... I just let it reach back as far as it will go easily... and I visualize and "feel" the etheric tongue going on up the nasal pharynx, all the way. And often it feels like my tongue is actually doing that, but then in my experience the etheric feels like the physical anyway (which is only natural, since the etheric is the higher sub-planes of the physical). Muktananda says this is the way the Kundalini goes to sahasrara. I'm sure it isn't the _only_ way, but it's interesting - it does seem to involve energy going from the throat-chakra area up to sahasrara _through the middle of the head_. Must go up close to the old brain, medulla and so on. What do you think? Love, Dharma
