Guest guest
Here's a picture taken last fall after one of the homa fires to the 10 Dasha Mayavidya goddesses performed at Kali Mandir for the Durga Puja. Hi Jody ~ well, now I am at the point where I just can't stand it anymore. I missed the post that had the link to your picture, and after all this conversation about it, I really would like to see it/you. Can you repost it or email it to me? Also, is the Kali Mandir you refer to the one in California? Are you also aware of Devi Mandir in Japa? I would very much like to visit both. After attending two homas this summer, I love the beauty of the ritual. Some of my favorite parts (again, my artist self showing) were the "ete ghandapushpe" (offering of flowers as the Diety or Dieties are invited to attend) and the drawing of the yantra (seat for Her/Him/Them) to sit on with flower petals. I also like throwing my rice (karma) into the fire. We are symbolmaking beings after all, beginning with the beautiful traceries of line articulating the belly of a horse or the "horns" of the shaman. Is it not all beautiful...all this extravagant espression of the One. :::sigh::: Shanti ~ Linda
