Guest guest
>> Maybe I can take another digital photo with better resolution (around a megabyte) and you can print it for yourself. It's no problem for me. Let me know and I'll take a new photo. Some of the printing places do nice 11x17 photos. The painting is a 12x16 oil. << Hi Bob ~ you answered my question as to the medium. Now I am even more impressed as your painting shows freedom of gesture in the hand doing the painting and in the soul and heart of the painter. Have you heard of giclee printing? This is a new thing in the art world. Before, if an artist wanted really good quality prints of an artwork, they'd have to run an "edition" on a four color press ~ very pricy. There is a woman here in Ontario (and I see ads for giclee printing in all the art magazines) who does this. I have had prints made of some of my work, and it is really wonderful. Generally, they can print giclee (which is a transfer of a digital image of the work via computer to a big four color printer) on canvas and water color paper, and I'm sure on other types of paper as well. They look as good as the original, of course, depending on how good the quality of the photograph. Anyhow, the advantage with giclee is that you don't have to print a large quantity. You can print 1, or 5, or 10, etc. You can decide to do a "limited edition," which is very good. If you don't know what this means, let me know, and I'll write and tell you more. <~~always interested in forwarding the work of fellow artists. Guest guest
Dear Linda: I had some Giclee's made a while back. They are some flower garden compositions. I did five of them. My problem was in marketing them. So i decided not to print any more till I had a gallery that could sell them. I have a truck load of work I haven't sold. It just stacks up but the shakti keeps flowing. Love Bob
