Guest guest
Harsha, You asked recently about the emails playing music. Most of these are forwarded as is from the Hafiz list. These short midi sound files and the pictures are separated out for storage in archives by , as you can see there. It is possible to download them from there and save as a sound file which you can then email to someone as an attachment, which I have done here for demonstration. I don't know how to save it separately from the form it comes in here, because my save button saves the entire email. Most midis are very compacted, these short ones only 25KB. My husband downloads free midi files, most of classical music, which his computer will then play on his electronic keyboard. With the sample sounds of a grand piano on it, you'd think you were hearing a real Steinway. A more complicated piece like say a whole Bach concerto will run around 400kb. Of course, one can store them on a floppy disc, if you want to conserve your hard drive memory. By doing a search for midi files, you can turn up many sites of different types of music past copyright for free and legal download. It's a wonderful world, isn't it?
