Guest guest
Hi Everyone! Today I went to the library with my little one. Nothing unusual there. But something happened. It was like time stopped and everything froze. I gazed around me and saw people just being themselves. Men were reading with glasses on their noses and the checkout ladies were being checkout ladies....and not knowing any of the ones I saw personally, it dawned on me that any of them could be any of you! Like that guy over there reading the paper could be a Dan or a Greg or a Bob G. (etc) and the woman with the books in her arms could be a Dharma or a Gloria or a Holly (etc) and I suddenly filled up with so much love that my eyes welled up and when time came back I had to fumble around for my library card.... I just wanted to share that. Being in this Sangha (especially so actively lately) has touched me very deeply and has permeated my everyday reality. I am so grateful for this gift. Guest guest
Dear Kheyala.. libraries, like airports, are wonderful places to see our-selves. Thank you for sharing this story. It rekindles a kindred gestalt which occured for me.. also in a library. Not long after receiving the communion, hosted by the fellowship of these lists, the same flick of perceptual shift, which you speak of, occured. One day I (being the reference lady at my library) looked out, and suddenly was serving the nameless One, appearing in the guise of all of your essences. Gives me pause to know that of the hundreds met each day, every one is You.. And if you're ever in San Francisco, please show up in your fleshy essence. ... oh, and... as time 'stopped' for you.. perhaps they won't charge you overdue fines! smiling your way, Christiana Hi Everyone! Guest guest
Thanks for sharing Kheyala. Satsang is really everywhere if we are in tune as you are. Here to illustrate the point. From Talks with Ramana Maharshi: (Page 461, Ninth edition) Devotee: My profession requires my stay in my place. I cannot remain in the vicinity of Sadhus (Saints). Can I have realisation even in the absence of Sat Sanga as necessitated by my circumstances. Ramana Maharshi: Sat is aham pratya saram = Self of selves.............He is Immanent in all. Can anyone remain without the Self? No. So no one is away from Sat Sanga. And again Sri Ramana states: Consciousness is the Self of which everyone is aware. No one is away from the Self. So each one is Self-Realised. Yet, what a mystery that no one knows this fundamental fact, and desires to realise the Self.
