Guest guest
Dear Mace, You know that poem you sent to us a little while back about seeking milk from a cow and finding yourself with a bull? It was regarding praise from others. I have to tell you that today the image of the spotted cow appeared to me, suddenly, when I clearly saw that I had been seeking and expecting help from an "outside" source. Despite the fact that our society functions largely on the premise of an individual's supposed need and an outside agency's promise of fulfullment, I saw that this kind of seeking is an act of separation, a subtle violence, which encapsulates all the suffering there is. I know.... it has been said before in so many ways. The only source of peace, which is what all this is Really about, is The Source of Peace. There never was any milk because there never was any spotted cow. And now I am grateful for "all the bull" because it showed me that. Thank you for that poem. It will be with me always, even though I thought I deleted it. Love, Kheyala P.S. I never understood the phrase about the "child of a barren woman" until right this instant. I don't even know who it was that said that....but whoever did must surely have known about your spotted cow!
