i am writing this in hopes not to be any annoyance. i sincerely hope

to learn, and have a ready willing and hungry mind and heart to do

so. As i have read the posts on this list, i am quite awed by what

to me is the scholarly adeptness of the membership.

i would like to start learning from the beginning. To me that

would be to say start from the inner circle- or the scriptures of a

said belief, and then move to the next outer circles, of inspired

commentary. i don't know if this is possible, if so, could someone

kinda help, mentor me, guide me, as to where to find such things,

and how best to apply them. i have jumped into some really pleasant

feeling water, i just don't know what to do or where to go other

than just paddle around. Namaste' and Blessings to all, james

Paddle around a little and see if one path doesn't appeal to you more than

another. But then choose one path and stay with it, at least for a long

time. :)

All paths go somewhere. No path goes nowhere. Paths, places, sights,

perceptions, and indeed all experiences arise from and exist in and subside back

into the Space of Awareness. Like waves rising are not different than the ocean,

all things arising from Awareness are of the nature of Awareness. Awareness does

not come and go but is always Present. It is Home. Home is where the Heart Is.

Jnanis know the Heart to be the Finality of Eternal Being. A true devotee

relishes in the Truth of Self-Knowledge, spontaneously arising from within into

It Self. Welcome all to a.

Dear James,

When I joined Harsha's Satsangh, I began reading the brilliant

messages here, and I went, "Whoa!, I'm such a tiny minnow among these

whales of wisdom, what ever can I do to swim here?" And I found that

their gentle flippers of compassion have kept me buoyed and afloat,

safe in their loving midst. What a fine pod we have here! I learn day

by day here at Harsha's, James. Many fine dishes are offered here,

taste whichever feels sweet or bittersweet on your palate, and fill

up on it. It's all good, in some way or another.

Mazie

Dear James, Sue, and other new members. Welcome. Here is something I wrote

earlier.

The wise say that in this tree of life, on most branches, the fruits are

generally bitter-sweet. The bitter comes with the sweet. However, two fruits

are said to be sweet only. Satsang and Meditation on the Self. Sangha

implies spiritual friendship and fellowship with likeminded people who have

the same aspiration, the same experience of unity in love. It is due to good

merits that one gains the company of sages. In a Sangha, we come to

understand the silent potency of amity and nonviolence held in

Self-Awareness. The silent love of the Heart is Universal and its Presence

is Satsangha.

Satsangha itself is the method. It orients you to towards your own Being.

Relax James and be easy with yourself.

Love to all

Harsha

Dearest Harshaji,

Isn't it dear that we both were writing about the "bittersweet and

the sweet" at the same time?
