Guest guest
Dear everyone, Someone just asked me, "Who is it that you must prove yourself to?" I responded: "Of course I could be slick and clever. I could turn your question around, to have it backfire at you. I could say, "Why does this question arise in YOU?" I could say, "Who's asking? I could bring in Dan's lens metaphor... I could bring in things like projection, mirroring, the whole clever slew of 'pop psych' evasions. I could do all that to sidestep your question, but I won't... You have a question about me proving myself.. The question is... to me... The answer is to you! And to generalize this: To whoever expresses doubt in me. I cannot help anyone's expression of doubt... I figure, you trigger... and shoot a.... paint bullet. splat But it won't affect me being without a doubt... The issue behind all this is of course is: what is wrong with 'proving yourself', why is there an issue about someone standing up for himself to be counted and why do we use such a stance against a person who is doing it...? Proving and doubting are a pair. Doubt arises first... then comes the justification I have don't doubt whatsoever, not myself not anyone... Question now is, "Are you doubting this??
