Guest guest
Hi Jan, I've had a think about the whole don't need love thing and the stuff about freedom. We do need love. We were all created out of some sort of love. And I believe it is human to seek love in it's various shapes and forms, whether we care to admit it or not. Love is freedom, life is freedom and the only restrictions we truly wear are the ones we put on ourselves. Like a dove I soar, upon a golden breeze Wings spread to heaven Totally free. Skipping on sunshine Laugh in delight With love in my heart I bid you goodnight Monica. Listen to your Mail messages from any phone with by Phone. Guest guest
Hi Monica... Contemplation could be called an art. Talking about "we", what could that mean, valid for all sentient creatures? Humans aren't dolphins although there are quite a few similarities... As the saying is "God is Love", and man is "made" in God's image, that means man is Love too isn't it? So whence all the seeking for it? Isn't that called ignorance? It is the play of life... A mystic finds the source within, knows to be the source, and eventually transcends the limits of humanness - until these limits no longer apply even in "daily life". When able to feel, pain can be felt, and breathing is an urge. Freedom also is free from the potential to feel pain - not a philosophical phrase. Having visited 3rd world countries, it became clear that there, compassion comes first - because the common denominator of suffering and pain. When pain has dominated childhood, the focus will be likely to dwell on compassion. With a happy childhood, the focus will be likely to dwell on Love. The source is the same, the way of expressing differs... Stories of Buddha/Radha and the gopis would be quite unlikely Love, Jan On 9/27/01 at 1:35 AM lady monica wrote: ºHi Jan, º ºI've had a think about the whole don't need love thing and the stuff about ºfreedom. Guest guest
ºWhat is Love? not a feeling........ How do you know that? How does one know anything???? Imagine with me the moment I realized this:::: Can you relate?? A Quiet meditative moment, when all was still in my mind, all was still with my body, all was still in the air.... in the moment... ALL was Still.... And all of the sudden these words spoke so very clearly, my jaw dropped open, my eyes got wide, my body responded, my soul began to sing, and the energy rushed up my spine.... This simple statement "Love is not an emotion." And from that moment on, I knew knew knew without a doubt doubt doubt that Love was not some emotion one felt towards anyone or anything.. But that Love is........ How does one know anything? We can always guess or guage our perceptions and concepts... Recognizing them for what they are.. Accept them for what they are.. Are they taught to you? Are they beat into your head till you believe them? Are they in your very body passed down through the generations... Or do they suddenly make themselves known... Every "Truth" I have ever reached have been in similar moments to these... Some subtle realizations that take time to develop.. A little bit at a time like a puzzle that is put together, to make a grand beautiful picture when it is complete. Or some come in intense vibrant explosions of truth. My dear Jan, I love you....... Thank you for pursueing this conversation with me, so that I may recall this moment for myself.... It is one of such beauty to me.... Thank you.
