Guest guest
Last week, sometime at night before going to bed, my body started shivering and I felt like throwing up or something very close to it. To my good fortune I had bought some Ajwain seeds from the local Indian store not too long ago. I had heard much about the miraculous effects of Ajwain seeds from my both my mother and father. Most Indians I believe are familiar with Ajwain seeds. I took a spoonful and started chewing. There is nothing in the world that tastes quite as strange as Ajwain and the aroma it releases in the mouth is strong. It is not for the timid or the one uninitiated in the Ajwain mysteries. Well after I chewed a few seeds and swallowed them down with water, my condition got a little better and I was able to burp. For good measures, I boiled water and put a lot of Ajwain seeds in it and then added Lipton to make tea. I felt really better after a couple of cups. Ajwain seeds can be purchased at any Indian store. For two dollars, you can get a bag full. Many Indians used to eat them after a big meal. Probably now in the modern age, they take Tums or Pepto Bismol. I don't know if anyone else has ever used Ajwain seeds. I would be interested in their experiences if they have. For myself, I found that the taste of Lipton tea made with Ajwain seeds was tolerable, especially if you added sugar and soymilk.
