Guest guest
This seems all well and good, but doesn't the "I" which is surrendering stick around, no matter how surrendered it may be? There is a non-surrendered "I" before, and a surrendered "I" after... what real difference is there? Just wondering, Tim , "White Wolfe" <valemar.1@h...> wrote: > ....ah yes....st. paul said, "i die daily".....i start each morning > with the words....beloved, i surrender to you....i surrender my > knowledge, realizing that i lack wisdom; i surrender my desire, > realizing that it is in need of refinement; and i surrender my > past, realizing that your forgiveness grants me the grace to travel > further up the sacred mountain one breath at a > time....^^~~~~~~ > > further up and further in, > > white wolfe
Guest guest
After surrender... one is done one is oneself, all in one, one in all So get it done and over with, do not hold yourself back, there is no reason to find anything so objectionable as to not surrender to it. One finds oneself in any thing, 'what-and-who-so-ever' "As long as one is convinced that one has a special and personal reason to hold on to one's difficulties, one will not recover one's innate freedom." If you need to, surrender to the 'pissing pole' :-) It is the hardest, but it is also the end of it... Without it there is no surrender whatsoever...only a semblance... Guest guest
.....the difference is the difference between a perfect snowflake and running water.....everything and none at all....as long as i am here, i am not there....as long as i and my beloved dance the dance between creation and destruction we are and are not that....as long as i am bound by this flesh to this glorious realm of joy and suffering that is between the doors of birth and death i am something less than nothing....so, for me to live is my beloved, for me to surrender is to gain....but perhaps, all this is too abstract.....at the zen center in SF we bow.....and then we bow some more....the medicine works, but if you do not take the prescription, you will never know.....it all comes down to practice.....your question seems to say me that you have not yet tasted of the wine of sacramental suffering.....ask yourself, what is my practice.....before we can drink from the cup, we must learn to bow and ask for forgiveness, i.e., become worthy of sitting in the siege perilous as was sir galahad....that is to, surrender and accept love that which we are not able to requite....another way is to look into the mirror and ask, who am i.....is white wolfe, mark: no, mark is something less than white wolfe....but is mark, white wolfe:yes, white wolfe is the witness of mark and includes him....the i(man) in the I(man)...mark suffers the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune and white wolfe sits on a ridge of the holy mountain and with golden eyes and a bright heart keeps silent watch over him.....these words give a pale reflection to the reality i experience in the abode of my beloved, tim-san....hope you find some encouragement for you journey in them......sit with your suffering, surrender to it and your heart will blossom into a lotus of infinite compassion......and the sacred warrior within you will awake......this is my experience, this is my practice.....the practice of surrender.....^^~~~~~~ further up and further in, white wolfe - "fewtch" <coresite <> Sunday, December 30, 2001 5:03 PM Re: SURRENDER > > This seems all well and good, but doesn't the "I" which is > surrendering stick around, no matter how surrendered it may be? > > There is a non-surrendered "I" before, and a surrendered "I" after... > what real difference is there? > > Just wondering, > > Tim > > , "White Wolfe" <valemar.1@h...> wrote: > > ....ah yes....st. paul said, "i die daily".....i start each morning > > with the words....beloved, i surrender to you....i surrender my > > knowledge, realizing that i lack wisdom; i surrender my desire, > > realizing that it is in need of refinement; and i surrender my > > past, realizing that your forgiveness grants me the grace to travel > > further up the sacred mountain one breath at a > > time....^^~~~~~~ > > > > further up and further in, > > > > white wolfe > > > > /join > > > > > > All paths go somewhere.
