Like a person spinning a top, God started this Universe to be a spectator/witness to what will enfold. To him it is just a highly sophisticated movie. He does not know the story line because there is non. Every enfolding second [of every being or non-being] is a thrilling surprise to Him. He does not interfere with the enfolding of this drama because that would mean no surprises. And anyway why should He interfere? All the pain, pleasure, happiness, suffering ... even the sadomasochism is being experienced by Him alone. There is no other. Even the game of 'God', religion, worship, prayers, etc. is part of the enfolding scenario, part of the unplanned drama. Even the person who prays and the one who is sure that prayers are answered is 'God" Himself. Whatever 'you' do 'God' cannot or will not favor 'you'. Just look around, statically whether you are a good person or an evil person, the misfortunes, illnesses, etc. fall blindly. Suffering is heaped on the already down trodden. There is no rhyme or reason to whom good luck or bad luck will fall. Everything is so intricately interconnected and interrelated that any 'interference' with the enfolding drama could affect everything and everyone. Then also human beings are only an insignificant speck in this enfolding Universe. The 'Movie Goer' would not even notice us, let alone our pleadings! :-) So the bad news is, prayers are not answered. There is nothing you can do about it, there is no 'free will'. Because there is no 'individual you'. The good news is that the suffering etc. are all experienced by 'you' = 'God'. Only God is, there is no other. [The ''you' or 'I' that you feel inside is 'God'].
