Often i take a hike where i wouldn't take any visitor - along the muflon trails, at places where life is so harsh that animals living there will eat orange peels. Places where it's so silent that the body (breathing, heart beating) is noisy.. Volcanos and an arid alpine climate - that too on this small subtropical isle Peace, Jan

That can be a wonderful experience ! I once had the opportunity to take a walk on an island in the high arctic. After a while of walking I kept wondering what the loud noise going in the background was, since everything else was quiet (no vegetation to dampen sounds and no houses or ppl, just stone and craggy hills). Realizing that the loud noise was the sound of my own heart and breathing was quite a surprise. The moment was eloquent of being alive. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to gab about this moment. Love, Amanda.

The Aurora Borealis has to be a great event too - apart from the sight, there is sound which, in the absence of other sounds, has to be loud..
