Guest guest
Laura Johnston-Randolph [randojo] I told you I was mostly a watcher when I introduced myself...<chuckle>...I guess I lied. I'm thinking of checking out a satsang. Both Francis Lucille and Gangaji have them coming up. I'm not sure who would be better. I usually have an aversion to women (they just don't seem trustworthy to me...probably unresolved parental issues<g>). However it might be more challenging and beneficial for me, since I am a woman. Francis Lucille just looks -nice-. Any feedback on these two? I read the satsang reports, but if anyone has anything to add I would be glad to hear it. Also, I need to know exactly how to act at one of these things. I read the stuff about what satsang is like, but I also read some other stuff that talked about some kind of food that was very rude to not accept, I forget what it is called...If someone could fill me in on those kind of details, I'd really appreciate it. I'd hate to commit a faux pax, it would really ruin any chance I had of instant realization. What a waste of $10!! Laura **************************** Laura, thank you for raising these issues. I think if you have a choice between two satsang gurus, go to the one who looks good. No point in going to someone who doesn't look good and being further disappointed if what they say makes no sense either. Bad looking satsang leaders who babble can be a very bad experience. Since you say that Francis Lucille looks nice to you, maybe you should go there. Gregji knows him well and can tell you more. You asked about Satsang reports. Satsang reports are not what they are cracked up to be. Don't rely on them. I don't know any rules about food that you should or should not accept at satsang. To be on the safe side, taste a little first, before swallowing the whole thing down. At one satsang, I saw this one person literally spit out a lot of food from his mouth right in front of everyone (on the same table). No one said anything, but it's just not a nice thing to do when other people are not finished eating. By definition, any faux pax on your part should not make a difference to evolved souls and enlightened people in a satsang. Perhaps you should go to both Francis and Ganga satsangs and make plenty of faux paxs. Who ever is the most accepting of you and makes you feel comfortable may be the way to go, although it's hard to say really. You may feel comfortable at first but uncomfortable later, or the other way around. I hope you end up at a satsang where the leader looks good and nice to you and who does not mind faux paxs. That seems like the best combination perhaps. Hope this helps. Good luck and best wishes Harsha /join
