Guest guest
Hello Friends, Shall this post offend the most devout "non-religious" members, I do sincerely apologize... However.... This born and raised Christian, has no choice but to continue to celebrate Christmas... For those who are against American materialism.... cover your eyes...... *big sighs of relief* are heard echoing within me lately on the thoughts of Christmas... The joys of Christmas seen thru a child's eye::::: Glitter, tinsel, Presents under the tree Cookies baking, Elaborate shopping sprees Santa, songs Green and red door wreaths Snow and sleighs Frost bite and chattering teeth. How much I enjoyed Christmas as a child..... To grow up and become a parent, and have to deal with the judgements of such extravagance... The Commercialized Christmas! Oh my..... Pointed remarks about how we have allowed the "truth" of Christmas to dissolve into the very things that made Christmas wonderful for children...Thus began a yearly moan of such things as shopping, and baking, and decorating... Oh, dont make me participate in this holiday that doesnt honor Christ anymore... I began to hate Christmas. And I would do my "yearly" duty of pushing why we had Christmas. Forcing the kids into Church activities, .... Remember!!! Remember!!! REMEMBER WHAT??????????? What I couldnt remember is all those wonderful things that made Christmas fun.... Rich or poor {and we were poor, btw} We never knew it when Christmas came, my mother would go out of her way to provide the most wonderful Christmas season and sensations... Those very things I tried to take away from my children.. Those very things I was denying myself, now that I was an adult {AND KNEW BETTER} Oh, this year, this wonderful year... And like any holiday that this wonderful world celebrates..... regardless of who or what they are honoring or remembering, or celebrating.... Taken down to the Eyes of the Child... What is it that they see, and adore... Glitter, tinsel, Presents under the tree Cookies baking, Elaborate shopping sprees Santa, songs Green and red door wreaths Snow and sleighs Frost bite and chattering teeth And that is what I shall enjoy this year, as I celebrate Christmas the way it should be... With joy and excitement, just as a child. Merry Christmas little children, rejoice and have fun.
