Guest guest
Hi Mark and Harsha, I wish you the best, Sri Mark-ji. You'll be baaaack, I trust, when the time is right! I'll miss your sweetness, candor, wit, humor, and good writing! Harsha, I have had toxic reactions from garlic as well. Although I don't have the longitudinal experience with and without garlic as was cited by Rayek, I have noticed over the last 2 years an effect sort of like an acid stomach, often with diarrhea as an aftereffect. I eat a lot of Chinese food, and must tell my friends not to include it. Restaurants too. Garlic and onions are not eaten by some Hindu yogis (as in the Shivananda school) nor by Chinese Buddhist monastics. Perhaps others too. For several reasons, including I suspect, the toxicities. Other reasons are the aphrodisiac effects (I've never noticed these, but they are attributed to these plants), as well as the halitosis around the altars and in the closed group yogic and monastic quarters. Some Buddhists interpret their vegetarian vows to include not eating garlic and onions! Love and farewell to Mark, and love to all, --Greg At 09:26 PM 11/27/01 -0500, Harsha wrote: >Hi Mark, > > I was on no mail for the day hiding from the viruses.
