Congratulations Harsha! When l saw your post my initial reaction was, "

Hey, wait a minute -- isn't Harsha a little old for this??" Ha Ha Ha Then l

thought it was perhaps with a second wife, although not necessarily, l know

.... Then from reading the post l wondered where your family is in relation to

you, and why they aren't with you. So, nosey as l am, l just wondered.

My brother had his first child at 50

(with his second wife -- his first never wanted kids) and has been blissfully

happy the past 5 years. A close friend, after raising one family, got

divorced at 50 and has a 5 yr old daughter with his second wife, and his

daughter Esme is just adorable and the apple of his eye (mine too). We have

a keener appreciation for the wonders of life as we get older, and l think we

can be better parents too. l pray for good health for Mira and for much joy

for your family.

love,

Dear Harsha,

my warmest congratulations to you and your family for the arrival of

precious little Mira on this planet. May Mira's life on Earth be one of

wisdom and joy and of the soul's fulfillment.

In loving friendship,

Betreff: Amidst the Chaos, New Life

Dear Sisters and Brothers of the Sangha,

Last week on Thursday, I received a call from my wife, that she had gone

into premature labor. In the middle of complicated and uncertain

circumstances, an emergency c-section was performed and our baby daughter

was delivered. Both my wife and daughter are at home now. Mira (my wife's

choice for the name) came 7 weeks early and generally is OK other than some

usual issues that babies who come early may have to deal with. She is a most

welcome addition to the family. The pediatrician is closely monitoring her

and we are all optimistic. I flew home last Thursday when I heard what was

happening and for five days was holding Mira and looking at her. She is

smaller than our other children but very special and beautiful. Coming in my

middle age, I am cherishing this gift. In a few weeks when the semester

ends, I will again rejoin my family. Wanted to share the good news with you.

Will catch up with the e-mail over the next few days.

God bless you

Love to all

Harsha

Re: Amidst the Chaos, New Life

harsha-san...when white wolfe is not playing the piano, washing the dishes

or clothes, writing a poem to his beloved mira, well, then he is

reading....always he is reading something.....just read, coincidentally, and

shared this with my mirror a few days ago.....from The Map of Love by Ahdaf

Soueif in a passage discussing the etymology of the name Mira.....

Anna gazes at the word. ''Mir' aah'?' she hazards.

'Right,' says Layla, 'what does that mean?'.....

Anna shakes her head. Layla points at the large mirror on the left wall.

"Mirror?'

"Yes," Layla nods.

'But way are the two words so close?' Anna asks.' "Woman" and "mirror"?'

'Well, "mirror" must be from "ra's": to see. But I don't know where

"woman"

comes in - oh, wait - mar' is "person" so mar'ah is the feminine. Can it be

that mar' has to do with being visible?' She turns to her mother. 'What do

you think, Mama? Mar' from being visible?'

'Is it just people who are visible, child? Animals and trees and all the

created world is visible.'

'Perhaps it only people who see themselves - '

'Some see with their eyes, some see with their hearts. The name of the

Prophet preserve you and you.'

.....you have chosen a big name for your daughter to live into....i pray that

she bear the name as well as does my mira.....it is a name rich with a

history of higher consciousness....may all the gods and the one god above

all gods protect her....may she always see the path of love clearly, the

path to and of the true self, with the single eye of the sacred heart and

follow it faithfully.....^^~~~~~

further up and further in,

white wolfe

Thank you dear Mark for your words. Each Soul comes with its own name. We

just play the role of selecting it. My wife suggested the name Mira and I

readily agreed.

Love to all

It's good to hear both the baby and the mother are doing well after

the C section and that you will see them again in not too long a

Mira is a beautiful name.

I wish you all well and all good for Mira, may her life be blessed

with a solid health, much knowledge and boundless love. :)
