Guest guest
Dear Jan, I appreciate your point that sometimes musicians play in a kind of trance state, and that to continue it some of them may seek substitutes. This is a very correct and true analysis. Only I don't think that that trance state has anything to do with Savikalpa Samadhi. It is a much, much lower state - a state that is obviously dependent on the senses as well as on ego, manas, and buddhi. A state, also, that leaves one frustrated once one comes out of it. And, as you are saying yourself, God has nothing to do with it. If this were samadhi, I for one wouldn't want it. Best wishes, Michael

This happens to many artists but they are not aware of it, don't have the knowledge. And it can happen to scientists too, like for instance Einstein. º ºOnly I don't think that that trance state has anything to do with Savikalpa ºSamadhi. How come that yogis, although 100% dependent on mind and body, yet use terminology like higher/lower? In that kind of classification, what would be termed the life of a householder, compared to that of a contemplative? º ºIf this were samadhi, I for one wouldn't want it. Most likely then, you wouldn't want Shakti firing up every cell of the mind-body either, as it will burn out all opinions into mootness irrespective of like/dislike, higher/lower. Perhaps a good idea, praying to remain exempted from what certainly would be classified as "the ultimate ordeal". Cheers, Jan º ºBest wishes, º ºMichael
