Another possible "bugaboo" i see with Hinduism in the West is the idea of Atma-Prem (Self-love). How easily this gets confused with egotism and "love of myself" (the personality), even though the sages have made it clear the "personal I" is not the "I-I." Something else i see Buddhism sidestepping, although Buddhism has its catches as well ("emptiness" looks quite boring or unattractive to many, it 'skips' some beginning stages that may be useful/necessary, etc).
