Hello Wim,

Thanks for one of the more well balanced messages from you on this thread!

But you talk about Jody. I don't see Jody's participation in this forum as

evincing any need for self-inquiry. I've known him for several years on various

lists. He is candid and courageous. Under the surface of his lucid writing,

there's a depth and steadiness that suggests to me that he's transcended

personal doubt and pain and suffering. Yes, he's feisty and high-spirited,

which he's the first to admit. Look at Nisargadatta!

You like humor. I'm philosophical. Jody's a go-for-it kind of guy.

Body/minds aren't lumps of tofu. That is beauty. And it's one of the main

reasons I like reading Jody's posts!

Jody also knows Tweedledee from Tweedledum. That is, he knows the difference

between (a) an ultimate doubt about his true nature (a doubt he doesn't have)

and (b) a casual, conventional matter of being over-charged at a restaurant. To

confuse (a) and (b) is to dance the advaita shuffle with the most

slippery-footed. Jody's participation on this thread has been healthy and

(b)-like, never (a)-like.

Love,

Greg

If remembering correctly (may not be the case), Jody has also talked

about Wim -- which seems to illustrate the principle, "turnabout is

fair play."

Thanks for an eminently reasonable response...

Peace,

Tim

Yes, you're right, each one talked about the other! Up till the time of

Gloria's warning. It would be nice to have the response to a moderator's

warning not speak detrimentally about other members, "So-and-so needs more

self-inquiry."

I need some oatmeal, going for it now.
